Well, the subject hints at something exciting. Sadly, it’s not. This post is about Amazon putting books into the dungeon.
For those of you who don’t know what that means: Amazon will place a book into the dungeon, meaning it will not appear in searches or as recommendations based on similar books. The book just disappears. It’s still for sale. But no one can find it or stumble upon it.
I was surprised to discover several of my books are now in the Amazon Dungeon. Now I begin the laborious process of determining—completely on my own—why that is the case. It can be the title, the cover, the blurb, the first 10% of the novel, or anything they want it to be. So I have to experiment. I think I can see where some of my AI generated covers might be causing some issues. Others not so much.
